With an emphasis on safety and awareness in mind, 30 individuals from
throughout Charlotte County successfully participated in the first ever CPR
certification program hosted by the Charlotte Harbor Chapter. The program
was sponsored by a grant from
Insurance by Ken Brown
. The training was
held at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Charlotte County facility in the Family
Services Center on Thursday, August 21.
The certification, which is good for two years, was presented by theAmerican
Heart Association and emphasized the newest techniques in providing CPR
to those infants, children and adults in need of assistance. The training
included use of the Automated External Defibrillator machine found in most
public places. The program was available to the public and swimming pool
industry members alike.
The importance of understanding the current techniques will no doubt save
lives in those types of emergency situations. The Charlotte Harbor Chapter
provided a program that impacted 1,500 families with CPR training and
awareness, as well as, provided the means for certification to those interested.
The Charlotte Harbor Chapter Board would like to thank
Insurance by
Ken Brown
for their generous grant and the Boys and Girls Clubs for their
participation in use of their facilities and for promotion of the event. The
Chapter has a goal to provide another class for participants in the near future.
The Chapter staff is looking for information from our members! A survey
will be sent to all member companies to determine interest in certain activities,
CE course topics and other ideas. So, please take a moment to complete the
survey and fax it back to the Chapter office.
