CPR/AED “Save a Life” programs were a splash! A big thank you to
Ken
Brown, Insurance by Ken Brown,
for providing our Chapter with a grant to
be able to provide CPR/AED certification to more than 27 people (to date)
with a goal of reaching more than 50 by the end of February. The certification,
which is good for two years, was presented by the American Red Cross and
emphasized the newest techniques in providing CPR to those infants, children
and adults in need of assistance. The training included use of the Automated
External Defibrillator (AED) machine found in most public places. The program
was available to the public and swimming pool industry members alike. In
addition to the CPR/AED training, the Chapter distributed more than 2,500
CPR/AED informational packets printed by the Chapter to families of primarily
disadvantaged families through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Charlotte County,
Children and Families First, and the YMCA.
