professionals are highly visible and others (like me) work effectively behind
the scenes.
Legislative Days and our lobbyist, Jennifer Hatfield has placed us in a
proactive and involved position in Tallahassee with the legislators and with
the regulatory departments of the state. Add to that the work Florida Building
Commissioner Jim Batts and CILB Vice Chairman Roy Lenois do to protect
others from trying to “take a piece of our pie.” In almost every Chapter we
have local members who have strong relationships with Building Officials
which ensures quick action when issues arise.
We have a direct statewide link to DBPR investigators. “Snap and Send” is
a way to report a marked vehicle without the proper license number (CPC, RP,
Solar, Electrical, etc.). Use your smart phone

car or truck. The more angles the better.

Yes, once in a while issues also come
up involving the Barrier Code.
It just happened again. I received an
email back from a Central Florida Building
Official whose Field Inspector thought it
would be okay to re-interpret the Florida
